When I look back at how Red Dirt Robotics started – with a simple belief that every young Australian deserves access to quality STEM education – I’m amazed at how far it has come. What began as a gap year after I finished high school, quickly turned into a mission to bring technology education to the Outback, and now has grown into something more significant than I ever imagined.

Today, I’ve had the privilege of reaching over 3,500 students across Queensland, the Northern Territory, Western Australia, and Tasmania. Each workshop is a new adventure, each student a new opportunity to spark interest in technology careers.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to expand into Victoria in 2025. But no matter how much Red Dirt Robotics grows, one thing won’t change: my commitment to providing hands-on, engaging STEM experiences to students in regional and remote Australia.

The challenges are real – long drives, equipment maintenance, and the logistics of bringing high-tech equipment to remote locations. But when I see a student successfully complete their first robotics challenge or watch a drone they programmed take flight, I know this is exactly where I need to be.
